Stainless steel oyakodon pan with lid

Oyakodon means 'parent and child don'. It's a dish made of chicken and eggs. It's one of the most comforting dishes in Japanese cuisine. This pan makes one serving.

The dish is made by cooking chicken and onions in a rich soy flavored dashi, then pouring in loosely whisked eggs to set them just slightly. The dish is dunked on top of steaming hot rice to serve.
